Clicks Cosmo Covergirl 2015

09/13/2015

I had thee most amazing time at the Cover Girl Workshop hosted by Clicks and Cosmopolitan South Africa.

When I arrived I wasn’t sure what to expect as this was my first time attending this event.

The day started with a Workshop where Cosmopolitan editor Cathy Lund shared what goes on behind the scenes when choosing the cover girls for Cosmopolitan and which celebrities sell and who doesn’t sell covers.

After that another lovely lady took the mic and shared some beauty trends. She also says everyone should own :
– Red Lipstick
-Mascara
– SPF
– Makeup Remover
– Hair Heat Defence Spray

After the workshop we were off to get our nails done – I chose Sorbet’s Nail Polish Range.

After getting our nails done we went over to the skincare section to learn more.

I was impressed with BioDerma. The lady who was telling us about the product was well informed and she answered every single question I asked – even things about the ingredients and orgins.

She also stated that BioDerma‘s makeup remover is the best in the world and they sell 1 bottle every 3 seconds.” I think next time I visit Clicks I will buy it and post a review.

Also discovered a brand named Perfectil they sell pills that make your nails and hair grow.

Then I bumped into the ladies from Sorbet. I know all their products so I didn’t require any information. Sorbet is actually one of my favourite brands. PS: I love these cleansing wipes.

After that the my partners for the day decided to get contact lenses from Air Optix Colours. I loved the blue ones, I just couldn’t get them – I have sensitive eyes and I was actually just really scared since I’ve never had contact lenses before.

Then I got my hair done by the most fabulous hair stylist – Arion.

He recommended this product to keep my edges tamed.

Then I went to the make-up artists for a makeover. My make up was done by the lovely Lungile – she was really friendly. Of course I asked a million questions like where did you study? How long have you been a makeup artist? Where did you buy your brushes? Lol she even asked if I’m a makeup artist.

She used Black Opal Foundation and everything else was Wet n Wild Cosmetics. I had actually never heard of this brand until this event. They have really amazing eyeshadows ? and according to Lungile the price range is similar to Essence. I was really happy with my makeup – no complaints.

After our makeup was done we went to the changing room where we chose a little black dress and accessories with the help of Poppy Evans from Cosmopolitan South Africa, then we were photoshoot ready!

We were greeted by Joelle Kayembe who gave us a few posing tips!

After the shoot we had lunch and cocktails courtesy of Aperol Spritz and we spoke to other ladies and we took so many selfies. ?

Voilà… Here’s My Cover!

The Clicks Cosmo Cover Girl event was definitely one of the best events I’ve attended to date – even better than the Chris Brown Concert lol. I think every girl has to attend a Cover Girl event at least once to understand how special it is. It was such an amazing day, one that will always be memorable!

Thanks to the Clicks team for the amazing day! ❤
