How to get to Brahman Hills in the Midlands
After a 16 hour flight from New York City to Johannesburg (OR Tambo International) at 5:30pm then we embarked on a journey to the Midlands. It took approximately 5 hours and we arrived at around 11pm. The security guard gave us a form to fill in and then escorted us to our cottage.
Directions from Johannesburg (4-5 hours, depending on the traffic)
-Take the N3 to Durban.
-Take Exit 132 from the N3 south bound.
-Turn left and travel past the Ultra Stop petrol station.
-Continue along until you see a herd of Brahman cattle on the right hand side just outside the Gatehouse.
Total cost for tolls for the trip: R458.00
Directions from Durban (1 hour 30 minutes)
-Take the N3 to Johannesburg.
-Continue through Pietermaritzburg, on pass Hilton, pass Howick.
-Take the next off ramp – Exit 132 (Nottingham Road) .
-Turn LEFT at the T- Junction and cross the bridge over the N3 freeway.
The Rooms at Brahman Hills
At Brahman Hills, you have the option of choosing between staying at the hotel or one of their self catering cottages.
The hotel has 30 double rooms that boast all the creature comforts you need. From expansive king-size beds (or twin beds), to fully heated en suite bathrooms to keep the chill away on winter days. With standard amenities like WiFi, laundry service, tea and coffee station and an electric blanket. You will feel right at home when staying at Brahman Hills.
Each individually styled, cottage has a private deck and jacuzzi, kitchen and living room for lounging. Their incredible bedrooms offer unforgettable views of the property. The bathroom were stocked with Charlotte Rhys designer toiletries. Brahman Hills is incredibly intimate and private.

The Food at Brahman Hills
They offer fresh, locally sourced, and sustainable foods. We started the day with breakfast at Brahman Hills Café where we had:
Brahman Hills Breakfast: Bacon, Pork Sausages, Hash browns, sautéed wild mushrooms confit cherry tomatoes and scrambled eggs.
Herbed Omelette: An omelette mixed with fresh garden herbs stuffed with Chevin and dressed with pear sticks and honey.
Lunch was served at the Midlands Kitchen. With 15 kitchens, including Mexican, Mediterranean, Burgers, Chicken, Pizza, Indian and Vegan and others delivering 135 tastes.
Harvest Table for instant artisan fresh meals. Kid/pet friendly dining destination.
Dinner time was the highlight of my day, served at 89 on Copper – restaurant, cellar and underground bar.
Starter: A creamy butternut soup with homemade bread.
Main: Pan fried Line fish served with seasonal vegetables.
Dessert: Deconstructed cheesecake
The Spa at Brahman Hills
Our stay concluded with a visit to the spa, where we were treated to a full body massages. With 8 treatment rooms, a dedicated Manicure and Pedicure room, a Tranquillity Lounge and a Champagne, Coffee and Chocolate Bar. The Spa is a must visit and they have affordable prices.
My favorite thing about staying at this property was the friendly staff, wildlife and spectacular views.
