Go from coarse to smooth and silky in less than an hour, without having to pay a professional stylist using Afri True’s Lye-Free Relaxer creme that contains shea and keratin serum, which helps to soften and straighten unruly waves.

It’s easy to use, making it hassle-free to lose the curly locks and achieve silky straightstrands.

My hair story: I cut my hair in September 2015 and I’ve been “working” hard trying to get it to grow again.

It was really damaged and my hairstylist suggested that I should shave it all off and grow it from scratch. I disagreed and decided to start looking after my own hair. So ever since then I have been braiding, unplaiting, washing and braiding again. This is the first time I relax my hair in 6 months

Step 1 & 2: Prep and Protect
Use a comb to divide the hair into four sections and use a hair clip to secure each portion in place. Apply petroleum jelly to the scalp areas in between the sections of hair. The relaxing solution should not come into contact with skin during the application process, including the scalp region. You should also wear gloves or use a paint or makeup brush for application to protect your hands from harsh chemicals.

Step 3: Application
Dip the applicator brush into the mixture and apply directly to the roots. Apply to all four sections then run a hair comb or fingers through strands to remove the curls, and let the product sit for 10 to 20minutes.

Step 4: Wash
Rinse the hair with warm water for three to five minutes to remove the relaxing solution. Make certain to keep the mouth and eyes closed while rinsing away the product, as it does contain chemicals. After washing out the hair relaxer, use the shampoo and conditioner:

• Shampoo
While the hair is still moist, pour Afri True’s Conditioning Argan Shampoo on to your palm and rub into the scalp. Massage the product into the hair to create a rich lather, and then rinse with warm water.

• Condition
Apply the ultra nourishing deep conditioner treatment to your hair and massage into the roots. Let it sit for five minutes before rinsing out with warm water.

I then used my BaByliss Le Pro Light 2100w hairdryer to dry my hair and I applied Afri True’s Moisturising Hair Lotion

I absolutely love the result ? and will use this relaxer again.

In lye relaxers, the active ingredient is sodium hydroxide. In no-lye relaxers, the active ingredient is calcium hydroxide. No-lye relaxer is usually a little milder and good for sensitive scalps, but the calcium can cause hair to be slightly drier
